From A Long Winter's Sleep...

Tue Mar 15, 2005, 12:15 PM
...The Creature Awakens

A bit has changed since I last posted. I'm now a part of the "Customer Retention Group" at Directv, meaning when (for some strange reason) people want to disconnect their account, I try to save them. I'm much happier where I am, as I have a lot less people "yelling" at me (when I was in Customer Installation Support, I was constantly getting yelled at by people asking where their installer was, since they stayed home all day, loosing $1,000s of their hourly pay). Plus an extra 5% incentive is nice.

Recent trips:
1) China for two weeks last October. Had a wonderful time, pictures to come very soon.
2) Los Angeles just this past weekend. A fun but crazy town, didn't have enough time to see it all.

Upcoming trips:
1) Weekend trip to Seattle this spring. Cathy and I have to make our annual trip to Ikea.
2) France and ? for two weeks this October. The ? will probably be Amsterdam/The Netherlands, though that's still up in the air.
3) Hawaii for just over a week around New Year's '06. By that time we'll want to escape the cold of Idaho.
4*) Egypt for fall of '06. This is not locked in stone yet. First we have to get through the trips we're locked into now and we'll see how safe it is to travel there before locking in the travel.

As I said earlier, my stories/pictures of China will come very soon, most likely next week, as it'll be spring break here and the campus computer labs will be easier to use (the lab monitors don't like when the computers are used for "goofing off").

Hope everyone is doing well,

Ryan

Figured my first deviation should be one of my favorite shots that I've taken. Enjoy...

Sweet start on Deviant Art, but when are you going to put more pics up?????
:icondjsix:
I'll be posting more pictures in the coming days/weeks:

1) I didn't want to flood "my" site with a bunch of pictures at once, wanted more of a slow release.

2) A lot of pictures to choose from, hard to know what to post.

3) For the next 2 1/2 weeks I'm not at home much (working full time and going to summer school), so I'm not home that much, which cuts down on the time to upload the pictures (plus a 56k modem doesn't help :D)

After work tonight, I'll be posting another picture, keep an eye out.
:iconliveasyouwill:
OUCH....a 56K connection....that definitely could get frustrating when it crashes on ya during mid-upload! dont worry about flooding your page with pictures..... you have as much space as you need......
:icondjsix:
Actually I have stable connection, it's just waiting for the upload. May have to transfer the pictures onto a CF card and do the upload here on campus. I realize I have all the space I need, I just didn't want to throw up 100 pictures(more or less) all at once. I want to see the initial reponse to my first postings before I go crazy, so far so good...

Well..off to the library to "study" :shh:
